Heavy vehicle testing: the changes operators should review

A source briefing on ADAS visual checks, digital PG10 notices and changes to plating certificate access.

DVSA’s February briefing describes changes to heavy vehicle testing and related paperwork. These include ADAS visual checks starting on 2 February 2026 and a new PSV door safety testing tool introduced on 5 January.

The briefing says the ADAS checks were being used to gather information and were not, at that stage, part of the annual test. Do not treat this dated announcement as a statement about every later testing requirement.

PG10 prohibition clearance notices were moving to email using the operator contact associated with the vehicle on the Vehicle Operator Licensing system. The briefing also outlines plans for downloadable plating certificates.
